September 29th: A New Start

I've lost momentum on this blog, and now I've also lost the most wonderful person who inspired the blog.
The blog's credo is to focus on irreverent and interesting things, instead of on sad, serious things, and thus I continue it with that close to my heart.

August 23rd: Meat Curtains

What in the world are "meat curtains"?! I'll never know!

August 20th: Neighbourhood Family (Guy)

Random plushie on the stoop of a neighbour's building in Quakertown, PA.

August 20th: Grrrr. Argh!

Someone special made me this and I thought it was the cutest little monster ever!

August 19th: Stick it to YA!

The man to the left of the car was hanging onto the "Oh Shit" bar by his rude little finger!

August 19th: And the bride wore argyle...

Tradition doesn't preclude quirkiness.

August 19th: Mister Magoo

Sometimes people on the streets or subways of New York look like cartoon characters!

August 19th: There's No Place Like Home

Especially when home is New York City, home of hilarious silver sparkled Converse sneakers.

August 16th: Mustachio Ho Ho!

The SECOND case of the mustachio graffiti ninja that I have uncovered!

Here is the first

August 16th: Peekaboo!

Oh my city, how I love you.

August 16th: Checkmate, Garbage Man

Strange things found in the New York trash.

August 16th: A Bag of Dogs (not a Doggy Bag)

This woman originally walked into Starbucks holding a small dog at her neck and pulling a suitcase.  It was like a clown car, though, as the bag was FULL of dogs!

Not so hygienic in a Starbucks...

August 16th: Macro Friendtography

Men taking photos of each other as they sit across from one another at the table in Starbucks, not drinking or talking.

August 14th: Insufferable Diva

I'm apparently an "insufferable diva" in addition to being someone who should buy fairy wings

August 14th: Renaissance Faire

August 14th: Mehndi

August 14th: Portable Zebra

Seen en route to the Renaissance Faire.

August 14th: Itsa Me!

Random costumes at the New York Renaissance Faire

August 14th: Box Kitty

Without fail, if you put a box on my floor, Radagast will get into it.

August 13th: Schadenfreude

Step One: Car gets ticketed on 4th street

Step Two: Repo Men flag the plate number

Step Three: Two tow trucks come to 4th street, blocking all traffic and slowly wedging the car out from its careful parallel

Step Four: Everyone watches as this mega expensive car gets repo'ed

August 13th: Chez Cthulhu

I made the mistake of discovering Anthropologie and found this adorable plate there! While I didn't buy it, I did buy a bunch of other stuff but felt lucky to have gotten out only $100 poorer.

August 13th: Corporate Packing

Despite not having issues with most of my temp gigs, I'll admit that packing up this company and witnessing the sheer volume of stuff that got thrown away for "convenience" was riling in the best of circumstances.

Environmentalism and Corporate Convenience are mortal enemies, I think!

August 13th: SecHRets

As a temp, I sometimes am privy to secrets, but my favorite part of working in the HR department is seeing people's resumés.  At this week's gig, I saw several resumés that were just over the top! Spiral-bound, in specialized folders, laminated and color-coded.  The job market is tough!!

August 13th: Because Starbucks is HARD. CORE.

Starbucks in New York is loved by many, and hated by even more.  As I'm not even a coffee drinker (Venti Black Tea Lemonade Unsweetened) and still a Starbucks addict, I am tickled when I see other non-traditional regulars in my regular Starbucks.

Don't believe me that this guy is a regular?  Look! He was at the same Starbucks at the same time on the day before!

August 8th: Penguin On A Stick

Sometimes to entertain myself I make tiny animals out of clay.  This is using Crayola Model Magic clay, which air dries!

August 8th: Taste the Flavah!!

I pity da fool who buys from George Foreman instead!
You never know the amazing things you'll find at a Flea Market.

In case you haven't been smoking weed, but want people to think you have been...

August 3rd: Earrings Galore

My lovely friend got me this earring holder as a gift, and now that I have more space for earrings, it just means that I should buy more.

My original tree was getting overfull!
